European Bridging Meeting in Gastroenterology
The 2024 European Bridging Meeting in Gastroenterology will take place on November 22nd –23rd 2024 in Berlin, Germany. This established Bridging Meeting concept provides a network event for Mentor-Fellow pairs, with Fellows presenting their original research to the European GI audience receiving helpful suggestions, comments and directions from senior experts. The bridging concept was created to connect gastroenterologists while providing a forum for research collaborations & exchanges with a balance in gender, age & geographic location among the European Gastroenterology community. The annual Bridging Meeting has seen very fruitful developments: fellows presenting their research work to highly ranked key opinion leaders, in many cases for the first time, reveal how valuable the impact is while mentors repeatedly express their gratitude for the privilege to observe, advice and promote the talented group of the next generation. Professor Peter Malfertheiner initiated the Bridging Meeting 20+ years ago in Magdeburg and has since incorporated this special event into the activities of the European Association of Gastroenterology, Endoscopy & Nutrition.
The Bridging Meeting event includes 2 days of interactive learning. On the first day, fellows present their original research and earn suggestions and comments from senior experts. On the second day, an EAGEN postgraduate course with state-of-the-art lectures and interactive sessions provides updates and latest knowledge in GI to the European gastroenterology community.
